Olympic gold medal wrestler Gable Steveson is transitioning from wrestling to football, having signed a standard undrafted rookie free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills on Friday.
The Bills have listed the 24-year-old Steveson as a defensive lineman, aiming to utilize his leverage techniques and agility on the football field.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 266 pounds, Steveson made history at 21 as the youngest freestyle wrestler to win gold in the super heavyweight category at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. He later secured two national college titles at Minnesota in 2021 and 2022 and was twice awarded the Dan Hodge Trophy, recognizing him as the nation’s top college wrestler.
