Trent Robinson is optimistic about the Sydney Roosters’ chances of keeping Angus Crichton, stating that negotiations with the star back-rower are progressing well. Crichton, who has been enjoying a standout season, particularly shone in NSW’s recent State of Origin victory.

Robinson is eager to secure Crichton’s future at the club, emphasizing his importance as one of the game’s top back-rowers.

This marks a turnaround for Crichton, who initially seemed destined to leave the Roosters after starting the season outside of Robinson’s preferred starting lineup.

Despite earlier frustrations over the club’s pursuit of another player and his own interest in rugby union, Robinson believes discussions are heading in a positive direction, viewing Crichton’s retention as crucial amid other significant departures from the team.

Reflecting on Crichton’s recent performance, Robinson praised his impact on the field and expressed confidence in ongoing talks with Crichton’s management, noting that their plans have been clear for several weeks.
