Selected as the third overall pick by the Celtics in the 2017 NBA Draft, Tatum has solidified his status as one of the league’s premier players. He maintained stellar form last season, averaging 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, earning All-NBA honors for the third consecutive year. His postseason performance was equally impressive, contributing 25.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game on the path to securing the NBA championship.
In addition to Tatum’s extension, the Celtics secured starting guard Derrick White with a four-year, $126 million deal this offseason. This secures their starting lineup of Tatum, Brown, White, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis under contract through at least the 2025-26 season.
