The Kansas City Chiefs are considering trading cornerback L’Jarius Sneed this offseason, and early indications suggest the Atlanta Falcons are leading contenders to acquire him.
According to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the Falcons are poised to pursue a deal for Sneed, having expressed serious interest in him during the free agency period.
Recent reports suggest Kansas City plans to franchise tag Sneed and then explore trade options. However, with financial constraints and other roster priorities—such as defensive lineman Chris Jones—the Chiefs appear unlikely to retain Sneed long-term.
Sneed, who played all 16 games in 2023 and recorded 78 tackles, a couple of interceptions, a fumble recovery, and 14 passes defended, has been a key contributor for the Chiefs since being drafted in the fourth round from Louisiana Tech in 2020.
While Atlanta’s defense ranked 11th in yards allowed and eighth in passing defense last season, the addition of a standout cornerback like Sneed could bolster their defensive unit significantly.
