White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech has enlisted MLB super-agent Scott Boras of Boras Corporation to manage his representation.

The decision comes just ahead of the MLB trade deadline, where Kopech is among several White Sox players who could be involved in trade discussions, according to a report by The Athletic in late June. Teams gearing up for the postseason have reportedly shown interest in Kopech.

Kopech, currently earning $3 million on a one-year contract with the White Sox, will be eligible for arbitration this offseason and is slated for free agency in 2026, as per Spotrac.

This season, Kopech transitioned to a bullpen role, recording 23 saves for the South Side. The change has allowed him to increase the velocity of his fastball after struggling to maintain speed as a starter over the past two seasons. Additionally, he has stayed healthy, addressing a previous concern during his time as a starter.

Despite these adjustments, Kopech’s performance hasn’t met the expectations set by the White Sox. He holds a 5.31 ERA and a 1.462 WHIP this season, appearing in 39 games (39 innings) with 52 strikeouts and 23 walks. He has also secured eight saves in his relief appearances.

Scott Boras, widely regarded as MLB’s top agent, represents a roster of premier talent that includes the likes of Bryce Harper, Juan Soto, and Jose Altuve. Known for his robust negotiation tactics, Boras is recognized for securing maximum value for his clients.
