Adrian Wilson, former Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers, was arrested in Arizona on three charges related to domestic violence.

The Scottsdale Police Department confirmed Wilson’s arrest on June 1. The charges against him include intentional assault causing physical injury, property damage ranging from $250 to $2,000, and disorderly conduct-disruptive behavior or fighting.

According to police records, the incident occurred early in the morning of June 1 when Wilson returned to his Scottsdale home. Upon discovering separation papers from his wife in the casita where he stays when in Arizona, Wilson’s wife informed authorities that she had hired a private investigator who uncovered Wilson’s extramarital affair.

Allegedly, upon finding the papers, Wilson entered his wife’s room while she was sleeping and engaged in a violent altercation, damaging items such as a TV, mirror, and lamp. His wife reported that he pinned her against the bed and began choking her, though she managed to escape unharmed. Wilson then retrieved a gun from a safe, threatening to harm himself but not pointing the weapon at anyone before leaving the residence with the firearm and contacting family members.

At the time of the incident, Wilson’s three children were also present in the home. He was arrested at 6:33 a.m. and later released on bail. A virtual case management conference is scheduled for July 16.

The Carolina Panthers have confirmed that Wilson is no longer employed with the club, stating, “Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers,” according to a spokesperson from Tepper Sports & Entertainment.

Wilson joined the Panthers before the 2023 season following a long tenure in the Arizona Cardinals’ scouting department. His roles included vice president of pro scouting and co-interim general manager during the 2022 season. Wilson had a distinguished playing career with the Cardinals, earning five Pro Bowl selections over 12 seasons and being inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor in 2015.

After leaving the Cardinals in early 2013, Wilson briefly joined the New England Patriots and Chicago Bears’ practice squads before transitioning to a front-office role with the Cardinals in 2015.
