Former Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims, selected as the No. 18 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, is among four draftees yet to finalize their contracts with their respective teams. The other three rookies awaiting contract signings are all from the Minnesota Vikings—JJ McCarthy, Dallas Turner, and Trey Benson.
The Bengals and Mims have until July 24th to complete the rookie contract if Mims aims to participate in the opening of training camp next week for Cincinnati.
Amarius Mims emerged as a highly sought-after prospect from Bleckley County High School in the 2021 recruiting class. Standing at 6’7″ and weighing 315 pounds at the time, he was not only the highest-rated in-state offensive lineman in Georgia’s history but also the most highly regarded offensive tackle ever signed by the Bulldogs. Mims opted for Georgia over other competitive programs such as Tennessee and Florida State.
During his three years at Georgia, Mims consistently projected as a first-round draft pick, owing to his elite skills that originally earned him a five-star rating. His physical attributes are exceptional, with measurements of 6’7.5″ and 330 pounds, coupled with less than 11% body fat and a 40-yard dash time of 5.07 seconds recorded during his time with the Bulldogs. Such attributes highlight his immense potential, making him a unique prospect coveted by NFL teams.
