JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced the addition of running back Gary Brightwell and tight end Chris Myarick to their roster. In conjunction with these new signings, the team has also made moves to waive running back Lorenzo Lingard and tight end Josh Pederson, who has been waived/injured. Should Pederson clear the waiver process, he is expected to be placed on the Jaguars’ injured reserve list.

Gary Brightwell, a running back, was originally selected by the New York Giants in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, being the 196th overall pick. Over the course of three seasons with the Giants, from 2021 to 2023, Brightwell participated in 37 games.

His career statistics include 41 carries for 164 rushing yards, averaging 4.0 yards per carry, and one rushing touchdown. In addition, he has made 11 receptions for 92 yards, averaging 8.4 yards per catch. Brightwell has also contributed on special teams, returning 26 kickoffs for 555 yards, which averages out to 21.3 yards per return.

Brightwell, a native of Chester, Pennsylvania, played college football at the University of Arizona from 2017 to 2020, where he was recognized as an All-Pac-12 honorable mention in his senior year.

Chris Myarick, the new tight end, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2019. For the first two years of his career, he was part of the Dolphins’ practice squad before moving to the New York Giants, where he played from 2021 to 2023.

In his NFL career, which spans 27 games with 11 starts, Myarick has recorded 10 receptions for 82 yards and three touchdowns. Additionally, he has made six tackles on special teams, with four of those being solo efforts. Myarick hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he played college football at Temple University, where he earned four letters from 2015 to 2018.

These roster changes reflect the Jaguars’ ongoing adjustments and efforts to strengthen their team as the season progresses.
