Aaron Dunn, a highly-rated offensive tackle from Spanish Fork, has decided to remain in his home state by committing to the University of Utah. This announcement, made on Thursday afternoon, solidifies Dunn’s choice to stay close to home for his college football career.

Ranked as the second-best prospect from Utah for the 2025 recruiting class by both 247Sports and Rivals, Dunn’s commitment is a significant boost for the Utes. He chose Utah over other prominent programs, including Oregon and USC, after considering offers from several other notable schools such as BYU, Florida, UCLA, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and Washington.

Dunn’s commitment is noteworthy not just for its impact on Utah’s recruiting efforts, but also because of his impressive ratings. With a composite rating of 0.9261 from 247Sports, Dunn is the highest-rated recruit in Utah’s 2025 class thus far. He joins linebacker Christian Thatcher from Las Vegas as the second consensus four-star recruit for the Utes in this class.

Standing 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 290 pounds, Dunn’s athletic prowess extends beyond football. He has also made a name for himself in basketball, where he received a Deseret News 5A All-State honorable mention. In basketball, Dunn averaged 17.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, showcasing his versatility and athleticism.

Dunn’s decision adds to Utah’s growing list of commitments for the 2025 class. He is the second offensive lineman to join this recruiting class, following three-star offensive tackle Soren Shinofield from Colorado. With Dunn’s commitment, the Utes now have a total of 17 recruits for the 2025 season.

The current list of commitments for Utah includes quarterback Wyatt Becker, tight end Drew Clemens, and receiver Tavian McNair. The team has also secured commitments from various positions: offensive linemen Shinofield and Dunn, edge rusher Nela Tupou, defensive linemen Karson Kaufusi, Sione Motuapuakan, Semi Taulanga, and Malili Asiata. The linebacking corps includes Max Fonoimoana, Christian Thatcher, and Cyrus Polu. Additionally, cornerback Jason Stokes Jr., two-way athlete JJ Buchanan, safety Shelton “Manny” Fuller, and athlete Mana Carvalho have also pledged to join the Utes.

Overall, Dunn’s commitment is a major win for Utah, underscoring their ability to attract top talent and strengthen their roster for the upcoming seasons.
