Newly released video shows that police found former Michigan football star Denard Robinson passed out behind the wheel of his car after crashing into a street sign in April.

The footage captures multiple officers shining their flashlights at Denard Robinson around 3:05 AM on April 15, but he remains unresponsive. Despite the presence of a loudly blaring ambulance next to his car, Robinson does not wake up.

One officer noted that he pounded on the car door very loudly, yet Robinson did not stir while asleep in the driver’s seat. According to TMZ, Robinson eventually woke up, appearing confused.

Robinson was arrested in Ann Arbor, where he was involved in a single-car crash and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. At the time, the 33-year-old was the assistant director of player personnel for the Wolverines, a position he resigned from under indefinite suspension in May. The video shows Robinson struggling with a sobriety test, failing to walk a straight line and balance on one foot.

After refusing a breathalyzer test and being informed that this could result in additional charges, Robinson was handcuffed.

Robinson’s arrest marked the second time a Michigan staffer faced legal trouble since March, following defensive line coach Greg Scruggs’ drunk driving arrest, which led to his resignation five days later.

Robinson, who played for Michigan from 2009-12 as a dual-threat quarterback, amassed 4,495 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns during his college career.
