Over the past five years, the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills have developed one of the NFL’s fiercest rivalries. The Chiefs have emerged victorious in each of their last three encounters since 2021, but the contests have always been closely contested.
As the 2024 season approaches, the perceived gap between the two teams seems to have widened. The Chiefs are seen as having a more talented roster and better team chemistry, while the Bills have faced some setbacks, particularly with the trade of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
To address the void left by Diggs, the Bills drafted Keon Coleman with the 33rd pick and signed veteran Curtis Samuel. However, neither player is expected to replicate the impact that Diggs had with quarterback Josh Allen.
In a surprising development, the team is exploring additional options at the wide receiver position and has brought Corey Davis in for a tryout. Davis, who was the 5th overall pick in the 2017 draft by the Tennessee Titans, signed a lucrative deal with the New York Jets in 2021 but retired unexpectedly just before the 2023 season after two injury-plagued years.
Here’s an interesting one: the Bills tried out former Titans and Jets WR Corey Davis. The former 5th overall pick in draft unretired after a year away and is now seeking a return to the league.

Davis is now considering a comeback, and the Bills hope he can recapture some of the postseason success he had against the Chiefs. In the 2018 playoffs, Davis caught 4 passes for 35 yards in a game where the Titans defeated Kansas City. He was also the leading receiver for the Titans in the 2020 AFC Championship game, a contest the Chiefs won under Patrick Mahomes.
