The Miami Dolphins have re-signed Kendall Lamm to a one-year deal, but it seems that the veteran offensive tackle is set to retire after the 2024 season. Lamm announced his intention to make the upcoming season his “last ride” via the Dolphins’ official X account.
In his announcement, Lamm expressed his gratitude and excitement for closing his football career with the Dolphins. He reflected on the process of re-signing with the team, mentioning his appreciation for the opportunity to play in Miami and his anticipation for a fulfilling final season.
Lamm, who is 31, began his NFL journey as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2015 and has also played for the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans. Last season, he was a key player for the Dolphins, participating in all 17 games with eight starts. His consistent presence and ability to fill in at left tackle, particularly during Terron Armstead’s injury absences, were crucial for the team’s offensive line.
The Dolphins’ decision to re-sign Lamm could influence their strategy for the upcoming NFL Draft, where they hold the 21st pick. According to Adam H. Beasley of Pro Football Network, bringing Lamm back provides the team with flexibility and reduces the immediate need to draft an offensive lineman. However, they may still consider selecting one if the right prospect is available. Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz’s latest mock draft suggests they might choose Graham Barton, an offensive lineman from Duke.
