On Thursday, the Raiders officially signed rookie cornerback M.J. Devonshire to their practice squad.
Additionally, the team has removed cornerback Brandon Facyson and linebacker Elerson Smith from injured reserve, with settlements, according to Aaron Wilson.
Facyson, M.J. Devonshire who turned 28, went undrafted out of Virginia Tech in 2018. He subsequently signed a three-year contract with the Chargers and successfully made their 53-man roster for his first three seasons in the NFL.
The Chargers chose not to extend a restricted free-agent offer to Facyson, leading him to join their practice squad. The Raiders then added him to their active roster last year from the Chargers’ practice squad.
Facyson signed a one-year deal with the Colts last offseason and was re-signed by the Raiders this past March. In the 2022 season, he played in 16 games for the Colts, accumulating 28 tackles and six pass deflections.
