The Atlanta Braves are set to enhance their already impressive lineup of ceremonial first pitches this season by featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Usher. On Saturday, Usher will take the mound to throw out the first pitch before the Braves face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers. But that’s not all; Jermaine Dupri will also be part of the action, making the ‘Play Ball’ announcement for the same game.

In addition to these exciting pre-game festivities, Braves Retail is organizing a special in-store event at Threads in partnership with Starter. This event, running from 4 to 7 p.m., will include a variety of engaging activities and special promotions. Attendees will have the chance to meet Jermaine Dupri, who will make an appearance at 5:30 p.m.

The event will feature a live DJ, promotional giveaways with purchases, and a discussion on the convergence of sports, fashion, and Atlanta’s unique culture, led by Tony Shellman, the Head of Marketing at Starter.

The Braves are kicking off a crucial four-game series against the Dodgers on Friday at Truist Park, making the weekend’s events even more significant. This season has already seen a star-studded lineup of individuals participating in first pitch ceremonies, including performers Ludacris and Big Boi, NASCAR driver Chase Elliott, and Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins. Usher, a native of Atlanta who recently performed at the Super Bowl, is set to add his name to this illustrious roster of ceremonial pitch throwers.

This weekend’s activities highlight the Braves’ commitment to creating memorable experiences for fans and celebrating notable figures from the Atlanta community and beyond.
