In Week 2 of the NFL season, the Green Bay Packers leaned heavily on their rushing game against the Indianapolis Colts, giving star running back Josh Jacobs a significant number of carries. After a relatively quiet performance in their previous game in Brazil against the Philadelphia Eagles, where he rushed 16 times, Jacobs was the focal point of the Packers’ ground attack in their 16-10 win over the Colts.
Jacobs received 32 carries in that game, amassing 151 rushing yards, with his longest run being 34 yards. Despite the high temperatures at Lambeau Field and his heavy workload, Jacobs felt surprisingly fresh after the game.
He mentioned to reporters that he felt like he could have played another half, noting that despite the heat during warm-ups, he felt good overall and had never finished a game feeling so unscathed.
Looking ahead to Week 3, if Malik Willis starts again in place of Jordan Love, Jacobs is expected to have another heavy workload. The Packers limited Willis to 16 pass attempts in Week 2 to reduce turnover risks, so Jacobs will likely continue to be a key part of the offense. For the season, Jacobs has already accumulated 235 rushing yards on 48 carries, averaging 4.9 yards per attempt.
