Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey informed reporters on Thursday that he will be out for six weeks due to a broken scapula. The 27-year-old confirmed that he will not need surgery for the shoulder injury he sustained during Sunday’s win against New Orleans.
So far this season, Covey has recorded seven receptions for 34 yards and one punt return for 9 yards across three games.
An undrafted player in 2022, Covey led the NFL with 417 punt-return yards in 2023 and has accumulated 11 catches for 76 yards without a touchdown over 36 games, none of which he started.
Meanwhile, fellow receivers A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday as the Eagles (2-1) prepare for their upcoming road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1). Brown has been sidelined for the last two games, while Smith suffered his injury during the victory over the Saints.
