Anthony Richardson The Indianapolis Colts head into Week 7 with a 3-3 record, gearing up to face the Miami Dolphins at Lucas Oil Stadium. After starting the season with two consecutive losses, the Colts have rebounded by winning three of their last four games, including a narrow 20-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 6.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson has missed the last two games due to an oblique injury, leaving veteran Joe Flacco as the starting QB. Ahead of the matchup against the Dolphins, head coach Shane Steichen provided an encouraging update on Richardson’s status, as reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

“Colts HC Shane Steichen informed reporters that QB Anthony Richardson, who sat out last week’s game due to an oblique injury, is likely to participate fully in practice today.

Richardson sustained the injury during a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 29, attempting only four passes before being sidelined. Flacco stepped in and has performed admirably in the interim.

In three games (two starts), Flacco has amassed 716 yards, thrown seven touchdowns, and recorded just one interception, leading the team to two victories. Notably, all three games were decided by three points: the Colts beat the Steelers 27-24, fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars 37-34, and triumphed over the Titans by a field goal.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins are coming off a bye week and managed to secure a win in Week 5 against the New England Patriots, despite facing challenges since Tua Tagovailoa was placed on Injured Reserve due to another concussion.

Richardson’s return is timely for the Colts, although he has struggled with turnovers this season, throwing for 654 yards, three touchdowns, and six interceptions. Currently, it appears that Richardson will reclaim his role as the starting quarterback as he recovers from his injury.
