The Bucks haven’t had the start they hoped for in the 2024-25 NBA season. Their performance has been inconsistent, showing flashes of brilliance but lacking a clear identity.

Giannis Antetokounmpo expressed this frustration after a loss to the Nets that left Milwaukee at 1-2. “How are we going to win? Are we going to defend for 48 minutes? Move the ball? Attack?” he asked reporters. “We need to find our identity. We don’t have that right now.”

It’s still early in the season, but the Bucks appear to be continuing the unpredictability from last year, even with the addition of Damian Lillard alongside Antetokounmpo. This marks the first full season under coach Doc Rivers, who left ESPN to help restore the team’s championship potential.

However, with players like Lillard and Brook Lopez aging, the team should be leveraging their experience and chemistry. Yet, as Antetokounmpo pointed out, they haven’t reached that point yet.

Rivers echoed this sentiment, stating, “The last two games have been very disappointing. It’s still early, and we need to keep fighting, but these are games we should be winning.”

The Bucks will face the reigning champion Celtics on Monday night, followed by games against the Grizzlies on Thursday and the Cavaliers on Saturday.
