The State Bureau of Investigation has initiated a death investigation following a shooting over the weekend in Bullock County that left two men dead and three others injured.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the SBI began the investigation at the request of the Union Springs Police Department.
Around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, agents responded to a shooting on the 300 block of Waugh Street in Union Springs, involving multiple individuals.
During the investigation, two victims were identified. The first, 19-year-old Adrian Tarver from Auburn, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second, 19-year-old David Benton from Union Springs, was taken to Bullock County Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Three additional individuals were injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
