With the early signing period fast approaching, shifts in recruiting classes are beginning to make waves across the college football landscape.

Auburn became the latest program to experience movement on Tuesday night, as three-star offensive line commit Spencer Dowland announced his decision to decommit. Sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter), Dowland expressed appreciation for head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers’ coaching staff.

Dowland, a towering 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive tackle, has garnered offers from top programs including Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Florida State. According to his X account, he recently visited Ole Miss on October 27, fueling speculation about his next move.

The No. 909 overall prospect nationally and the No. 34 recruit in Alabama, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, Dowland’s decision introduces a new dynamic to Auburn’s recruiting efforts while boosting competition among SEC rivals vying for his commitment.
