The legal battle between Tyrod Taylor, the New York Jets quarterback, and his ex-girlfriend, model Draya Michele, has taken a new and contentious turn, with court documents revealing allegations that Taylor attempted to have sheriffs evict Michele from their former shared home in Chatsworth, California. According to filings dated November 26, 2024, Michele was on a business trip when she received a phone call from her children’s nanny, informing her that law enforcement had arrived at the property and was attempting to lock her and Michele’s children out of the house.
The property in question is central to an ongoing lawsuit filed by Michele against Taylor. She claims that Taylor purchased the home in August 2022 while they were in a relationship and allowed her and her children to move in. The lawsuit alleges that the two made a verbal agreement in which Taylor promised to sell Michele the property in the future, and that any financial contributions she made, such as mortgage payments or home improvements, would be credited toward the final purchase price if she chose to buy the property.
Michele asserts that she invested nearly $300,000 into the house, believing those funds would be deducted from the final purchase price. She also claims that in January 2024, she offered Taylor $2.8 million for the home, which he countered with a price of $3.2 million. Michele agreed to this counteroffer. However, the dispute lies in the fact that the deal was never formalized with a written contract, as the two were still in a relationship at the time.
Michele’s legal filings suggest that Taylor is now refusing to sell her the property and has threatened to evict her. The arrival of sheriffs at the house on November 20, 2024, represents a dramatic escalation in this ongoing dispute, as Michele alleges that Taylor’s actions are an attempt to force her and her children out of the home.
In addition to the breach of contract claim, Michele is seeking unspecified damages from Taylor. This adds to the growing tension between the Super Bowl XLVII champion and the model, who are already embroiled in a series of legal battles. Taylor, who began his career with the Baltimore Ravens in 2011 and went on to play for the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers, and Houston Texans, signed a two-year contract with the New York Jets in March 2024.
As of now, the situation remains unresolved, with both parties expected to continue their legal fight over the property and associated claims.
