Head coach Spencer Danielson continues to reshape Boise State’s coaching staff.
After helping Montana State reach the FCS championship game, Justin Udy has transitioned to become an offensive analyst and assistant quarterbacks coach for the Broncos. He will work alongside quarterbacks coach Zak Hill and offensive coordinator Nate Potter.
A native of Genesee, Idaho, Udy played college football at Eastern Oregon from 2008-2011, recording 67 catches for 721 yards and four touchdowns as a wide receiver.
Udy’s coaching career began at Eastern Oregon (2012-14), followed by stops at South Dakota Mines (2015-17), Utah State (2018), and Texas Tech (2019), before joining Montana State. Over five years in Bozeman, Udy coached quarterbacks, wide receivers, and special teams.
At Boise State, Udy will assist returning starter Maddux Madsen, who threw for 3,018 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions in his sophomore season, helping the Broncos reach the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history.
The 2025 Boise State offense will look different, with star tailback Ashton Jeanty moving to the NFL and offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter transitioning to a senior analyst role. Potter, previously the tight ends coach, will now call the plays, while wide receivers coach Matt Miller has been promoted to co-offensive coordinator. Hill was hired as the new quarterbacks coach in January.
Udy is one of 12 “analysts” on the Broncos’ coaching staff, a role that allows for on-field instruction but prohibits off-campus recruiting.
