The Knicks had a rather uneventful trade deadline. Despite ongoing rumors suggesting they were looking to add more depth, the only move they made was trading Jericho Sims for Delon Wright. With a roster already lacking depth, the Knicks are now relying on the return of their two injured players and hoping they stay healthy for the remainder of the season. The good news is, progress seems to be on the way.
OG Anunoby, who has missed the past three games due to a foot injury, is said to be dealing with an “irritating” injury rather than a more serious issue, and he’s aiming to return after the All-Star break. If he makes it back for the first game following the break, he’ll have missed only five games, far fewer than many fans had feared.
Even if his recovery takes a little longer, this is still encouraging news for the Knicks, especially considering that some expected him to be out until April or longer.

As for Mitchell Robinson, the big man who has been out all season due to off-season surgery, he’s reportedly close to being cleared for five-on-five practices. Both Robinson and the team have set a goal for him to make his season debut before March 1st.
In addition, Robinson posted a picture earlier today showing the two players working on conditioning at their practice facility, giving fans even more reason to feel optimistic about their return.
While the Knicks would obviously prefer to have both players back right now, the positive signs are reassuring, especially considering the uncertainty surrounding their injuries not long ago.
