Bills Ex Rejects Dolphins’ Offer, Remains a Free Agent šŸ¬āŒ

Once seen as a possible addition to Miami’s secondary, former Buffalo Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas has reportedly turned down a contract offer from the Dolphins, choosing to remain on the free agent market — at least for now.

Douglas, who started for the Bills last season, rejected Miami’s offer back in May. But according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have ā€œmaintained contactā€ and Douglas ā€œremains a possibility.ā€

Miami is currently in a holding pattern at cornerback, especially as tensions with Jalen Ramsey escalate and the franchise seeks a trade partner. While options like Jaire Alexander are now off the board (snagged by the Ravens), Douglas is one of the top free agents still available at the position.

Douglas had a strong debut in Buffalo after a midseason trade in 2023 but saw a dip in performance in 2024. Despite his interest in staying with the Bills, the team opted for other options, including signing Tre’Davious White, Dane Jackson, and drafting Maxwell Hairston in the first round.

At this point in free agency, Douglas may be waiting for the right situation—or the right number. If the Dolphins circle back, he might not have the luxury to pass again.
