3 Milwaukee Brewers Set to Be Strong All-Star Snub Candidates

The MLB All-Star Game is just three weeks away, and Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang is quietly putting together a campaign worthy of serious recognition—even if fans and media haven’t quite caught on.

Brice Turang’s Case for His First All-Star Nod

Turang, the 2024 Gold Glove winner, currently ranks among the National League’s most valuable players, not just at second base, but across all positions. Yet in fan voting, he’s far from the top:

NL 2B Voting (as of June 23):

  1. Ketel Marte (D-backs): 1.56M
  2. Tommy Edman (Dodgers): 1.05M
  3. Brice Turang (Brewers): 122K

Despite being tied with Marte in WAR (2.9) and ranking second in DWAR (1.1), Turang is nearly invisible in the polls. That disparity stems from his lack of traditional stat flash—he has just five home runs and 31 RBIs—but his overall value, including elite defense and improved batting metrics (.716 OPS, .272 average), is undeniable.

A Quietly Elite Season

Turang’s combination of defense, improved offense, and elite base running (16 SB, tied for 7th in NL) puts him on pace for a 5.9 WAR season—an elite mark. But he’s stuck in a small-market team that doesn’t get the same attention as clubs like the Dodgers or Cubs.

Players like Bryson Stott (.654 OPS, 0.0 WAR) remain higher in fan votes thanks to name recognition and team exposure, not production. If All-Star rosters were chosen purely on performance, Turang would be a lock.

Unless the commissioner’s office steps in, expect Turang to headline the 2025 All-Snub Team.
