Oregon Ducks Secure Five-Star 2027 WR Kesean Bowman, Boosting Early Recruiting Momentum

Head coach Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks continue to lay the groundwork for future dominance, landing a major addition to their 2027 recruiting class. On Thursday, five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman gave a verbal commitment to Oregon, becoming just the second pledge in the Ducks’ 2027 cycle.

Although Oregon has only two verbal commits for 2027 so far, the class already ranks among the top 10 nationally. The Ducks are also excelling in the 2026 cycle, with 15 commitments and another top-10 class in the making.

Oregon now joins Ohio State as one of only two Big Ten schools currently ranked in the top 10 for the 2027 class. Sacramento State leads early with seven commitments, while most other top-10 programs have four or fewer.

Bowman Brings Star Power

Kesean Bowman, a standout from Brentwood Academy in Tennessee, selected Oregon over powerhouse programs like Ohio State, LSU, and Tennessee. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound receiver visited Oregon unofficially on May 31 and also toured North Carolina and Tennessee.

In his sophomore season, Bowman totaled 56 catches, 1,023 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns. He’s also seen time at cornerback and runs the 100-meter dash in track and field. According to the 247Sports Composite, Bowman is the sixth-best receiver and the No. 36 overall prospect nationally for 2027 — making him Oregon’s first five-star commitment in that class.

The Ducks already hold three five-star recruits in their 2026 class, signaling a strong trend in talent acquisition under Lanning.

Defensive Help on the Way: Cameron Pritchett

Oregon’s first defensive commitment for 2027 came earlier this summer from Alabama native Cameron Pritchett, a four-star edge rusher. Ranked No. 8 in the state and No. 249 nationally by 247Sports Composite, Pritchett committed to the Ducks on June 2 after being offered in early May. He turned down offers from Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, USC, Notre Dame, and others.

With both offensive and defensive talent beginning to pour in, the Ducks are clearly making early waves in the 2027 recruiting race — and Dan Lanning’s long-term vision is coming into focus.
