The Texas Rangers have agreed to a one-year contract with left-handed reliever Danny Coulombe, the club confirmed Monday, adding an experienced arm to their bullpen mix.
Coulombe, 36, is entering his 12th Major League season and brings a steady track record of production. He posted a 2.30 ERA last season and has recorded a 2.38 ERA since the start of 2022, emerging as a reliable late-inning option during that stretch.
While not known for elite velocity, Coulombe has been effective by commanding his cutter and generating swings outside the strike zone. Opponents hit just .200 against the pitch last season, a key factor in his success.
The move provides Texas with a proven left-handed option as the Rangers continue shaping their bullpen ahead of Opening Day.
