On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, LAFC made several roster announcements for the 2025 MLS season. The club currently has 19 players under contract for the upcoming year, following the exercise of five player options and the rejection of six others.
As part of their roster moves, LAFC has picked up the contract options for forward Adrian Wibowo, defenders Sergi Palencia and Eddie Segura, and goalkeepers Hugo Lloris and David Ochoa.
On the other hand, LAFC declined contract options for forwards Carlos Vela, Kei Kamara, and Luis Müller, midfielder Tommy Musto, and defenders Marlon and Diego Rosales.
While discussions continue with Vela regarding his future with the club, defenders Aaron Long and Jesús Murillo, along with midfielders Ilie Sánchez and Erik Dueñas, are now out of contract. Long, Murillo, and Sánchez are eligible for MLS Free Agency, as is Kamara.
LAFC is in negotiations to re-sign Long, Murillo, Marlon, and Dueñas.
Müller and Musto are set to enter the MLS Re-Entry Draft, while Dueñas and Rosales will go through waivers.
Additionally, midfielder Eduard Atuesta’s loan from Brazil’s Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras will expire on December 31, 2024. LAFC is also in talks to keep midfielder Lewis O’Brien, whose loan from Nottingham Forest of the English Premier League ends at the same time.
Finally, LAFC has transferred midfielder Bajung Darboe to FC Bayern Munich in Germany’s Bundesliga.
