After a lengthy search, the Missouri Tigers have finally secured their quarterback, bringing in Beau Pribula from the Big 10 conference.

It took some time, but the Tigers now have a clear answer at quarterback. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz successfully landed the commitment of sophomore Beau Pribula, a quarterback from Penn State, as reported by Matt Zenitz. This move answers Missouri’s biggest remaining question in the transfer portal.

Pribula, who served as a backup behind NFL-bound quarterback Drew Allar, threw for 275 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. With Allar returning to Penn State, Pribula’s transfer was anticipated. Despite being a backup, Pribula was frequently utilized in the offense, particularly in designed running plays.

His most impressive performance of the season came in a 28-13 victory over Wisconsin, where he threw for 98 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 28 yards on six carries.

Pribula’s mobility stands out as one of his key strengths. He rushed for 242 yards and four touchdowns this season, and 329 yards with six touchdowns the previous year. If he becomes the Tigers’ starter, it will mark his first full-time role as a pocket passer.

Before Pribula’s commitment, Missouri faced uncertainty at the quarterback position. Sophomore Sam Horn and senior Drew Pyne were in contention, but the coaching staff actively sought transfer prospects. After missing out on Miller Moss, who committed to Louisville, the search narrowed, and Pribula became a primary target alongside California’s Fernando Mendoza.

Pribula visited Columbia, Missouri on December 17 for two days, and later toured Iowa, Ole Miss, and UCF. While he was initially scheduled to visit Indiana, he canceled that trip. Missouri, Iowa, and UCF appeared to be the main contenders for his commitment, with Ole Miss already having a starting quarterback.

With the quarterback position now settled, Missouri fans can breathe a sigh of relief. While there are still other needs, such as on the offensive line, Pribula’s commitment eliminates the major uncertainty at the most crucial position.
