The Minnesota Vikings are anticipating a busy offseason in 2025, as they decide between quarterbacks Sam Darnold and JJ McCarthy.

However, something they likely didn’t expect was an arrest involving one of their former players, punter Chris Kluwe, who found himself in trouble this week.

As reported by Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith, Kluwe was arrested on Tuesday following an incident at a Huntington Beach city council meeting.

Kluwe was protesting the council’s decision to display a plaque at the public library featuring words like “Magical,” “Alluring,” “Galvanizing,” and “Adventurous” together to form the acronym MAGA. Smith reports that all seven members of Huntington Beach’s City Council are Republicans.

Video footage from the meeting shows Kluwe denouncing the MAGA movement, referring to it as “a Nazi movement,” and declaring his intent to engage in civil disobedience. He then proceeded to the front of the meeting, where the council sits, and was subsequently handcuffed and escorted out by police.
