Bears Announce Ben Johnson’s Complete Coaching Staff”
The Chicago Bears have officially unveiled the full coaching staff for the 2025 season under new head coach Ben Johnson. This announcement came on Thursday, with several staff members previously reported but now confirmed by the team. The Bears had already introduced key members of the coaching staff, including Dennis Allen as defensive coordinator, Declan Doyle as offensive coordinator, and Richard Hightower, who will remain on board as the special teams coordinator.
The new staff is a mix of veteran experience and fresh talent. Declan Doyle, who had been widely speculated as the offensive coordinator, will now lead the team’s offensive efforts. Press Taylor will serve as the offensive pass game coordinator, while J.T. Barrett takes on the role of quarterbacks coach. Eric Bieniemy, known for his successful tenure as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, will now oversee the running backs. Former wide receiver Antwaan Randle El returns to the league as the assistant head coach and wide receivers coach. Meanwhile, Jim Dray will be the tight ends coach, and Dan Roushar will lead the offensive line. Kyle DeVan has been named assistant offensive line coach, while Robbie Picazo will serve as an offensive assistant for quarterbacks and wide receivers. Additionally, Matt Aponte and Zach Cable are appointed as offensive quality control coaches.

On the defensive side, Dennis Allen will serve as defensive coordinator, bringing with him a wealth of experience. Jeremy Garrett will coach the defensive line, while Richard Smith will lead the linebackers. Matt Giordano will be the assistant defensive backs coach and safeties coach, with Al Harris as defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach. Bill Johnson joins as senior defensive assistant and defensive line coach, and Kevin Koch will serve as assistant linebackers coach. Cannon Matthews takes on the role of defensive assistant for the nickel positions, and Kenny Norton III will handle defensive quality control.
Special teams will continue under the direction of Richard Hightower, who retains his position as special teams coordinator. Anthony Blevins will assist in this capacity.
The support staff, which plays a critical role in the development and overall success of the team, includes Pierre Ngo as head strength and conditioning coach, with Noble Landry and Allison Haley as assistant coaches. Justin Rudd will serve as the senior director of coaching operations, while Chavis Cook will manage coaching administration. Harrison Freid takes on the role of director of research and analysis.
With this diverse and experienced coaching staff, Ben Johnson and the Bears are looking to establish a strong foundation as they prepare for the 2025 season.
