CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men’s basketball team suffered a tough defeat to San Francisco, falling 74-72 at Gill Coliseum on Wednesday night.

In a game that was tightly contested, the final moments were filled with drama. With just 18 seconds remaining, the Beavers briefly took the lead, but the Dons responded with a 3-pointer 10 seconds later, putting them ahead 74-72. Oregon State had a chance to tie the game as Parsa Fallah released a shot just before the buzzer, but after video review, the shot was ruled to have been taken after time had expired, sealing San Francisco’s victory.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This loss dropped the Beavers’ record to 20-10 overall and 10-7 in Western Conference play, while San Francisco improved to 23-7 and 13-4 in the conference standings.

Parsa Fallah led Oregon State in scoring, finishing with an impressive 24 points, shooting 11-for-13 from the field. Michael Rataj added 11 points and seven rebounds, while Damarco Minor contributed eight assists, bringing his season total to 157 assists, which moved him into the top-10 on Oregon State’s single-season assists list. Josiah Lake II posted a well-rounded performance with nine points, six rebounds, and five assists. Nate Kingz also contributed nine points, while Liutauras Lelevicius provided a valuable 8 points and four rebounds off the bench.

Oregon State shot an efficient 52% from the field and out-rebounded San Francisco 31-28, but the Beavers couldn’t quite close out the game. The Dons had an early lead to start the game, but Oregon State bounced back to lead by as many as 12 points. However, San Francisco responded with a 14-0 run to close out the first half with a 33-31 advantage. In the second half, the Dons came out strong, scoring the first seven points, but Oregon State rallied to tie the game. The two teams went back and forth, with Oregon State leading 66-64 with two minutes to go before San Francisco’s late 3-pointer proved to be the difference.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Before the game, Oregon State honored its seniors, with Matthew Marsh being recognized alongside student managers Alan Favela and Beau Rinker.

The Beavers will conclude their regular season on Saturday against Saint Mary’s.
