The talent pipeline in Columbus continues to surge, positioning Ohio State as one of the most desirable destinations in the country for elite high school prospects.
This week, the Buckeyes extended an invitation to dynamic 2027 pass-catcher Kesean Bowman, a standout from Tennessee who shared the news publicly following a strong showing at the team’s recent evaluation camp.
Rated as the fifth-best wideout in his class and Tennessee’s top overall player, Bowman has emerged as a high-priority target across the recruiting landscape, according to composite rankings from 247Sports.
Measuring in at 6 feet and 175 pounds, the Brentwood Academy speedster has drawn considerable interest, now holding over three dozen scholarship offers. Programs such as Michigan and Oregon—both prominent rivals of Ohio State—are among the many competitors in the mix.
During his sophomore season, Bowman racked up over 1,000 receiving yards on 56 catches and reached the end zone eight times, showcasing his playmaking ability and explosiveness.
The Buckeyes have built a reputation as a wide receiver powerhouse, with last year’s group featuring stars like Jeremiah Smith, Emeka Egbuka, and Carnell Tate. While Egbuka has since turned pro, Smith and Tate return alongside other emerging options expected to shine in 2025.
Looking ahead, Ohio State has already secured verbal pledges from elite receiver talents such as Chris Henry and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, in addition to a commitment from coveted running back Elijah Newman-Hall. Time will tell if Bowman eventually becomes the latest star to join this already stacked future roster.
