The Cleveland Browns didn’t make major upgrades to their underwhelming wide receiver group this offseason, opting instead to reinforce other areas of the offense.
Aside from signing Diontae Johnson in free agency, Cleveland didn’t add much to the WR room. However, one name fans have repeatedly mentioned as a potential reunion target is veteran receiver Amari Cooper—who is now reportedly on the radar of an AFC North rival.

According to NFL Rumors on X, the Pittsburgh Steelers are showing interest in Cooper, who remains unsigned alongside several other experienced receivers.
The Steelers already made waves by acquiring DK Metcalf from the Seahawks, but offset that move by trading George Pickens to the Cowboys. That leaves Pittsburgh still looking for another quality target to pair with Metcalf. Currently, Robert Woods and Calvin Austin III sit behind him on the depth chart.
Cleveland dealt Cooper to the Buffalo Bills last season, but he struggled in Buffalo, recording just 44 receptions for 547 yards and four touchdowns over 14 games—his least productive season as a pro.
Despite that downturn, Cooper could be a strong fit in Pittsburgh’s offense, potentially stepping in as a reliable No. 2 for new quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
As for the Browns, their focus appears to be on building for the future rather than revisiting old connections. If Cooper does land with the Steelers, many Browns fans would likely support him—and circle those two divisional matchups on the calendar.
