As Nebraska football continues to shape its 2026 recruiting class, more top prospects are moving closer to making their decisions.

Four-star offensive tackle Claude Mpouma is expected to announce his commitment this weekend. Meanwhile, on Saturday, fellow four-star prospect Calvin Thomas revealed he will be announcing his college choice on July 12.

Thomas, a linebacker from Cy Ranch High School in Texas, is considering five finalists: Nebraska, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, and SMU.

Ranked as the No. 18 linebacker nationally and the No. 33 player in Texas by the 247Sports Composite, Thomas has recently visited Nebraska, Michigan, and Texas.

More on Nebraska’s 2026 Class:

Despite losing a commitment from four-star corner CJ Bronaugh, the Huskers have added momentum with a flurry of new pledges. Over the past two weeks, they’ve landed three-star tight end Luke Sorensen, four-star cornerback Danny Odem, three-star running back Jamal Rhule, and flipped four-star wideout Nalin Scott from Arizona State. Nebraska now holds nine commitments in its 2026 class.

Here’s how the class currently ranks:

  • 247Sports: No. 74 nationally, 17th in the Big Ten
  • On3: No. 52 nationally, 18th in the Big Ten
  • Rivals: No. 56 nationally, 16th in the Big Ten
