Brian Kelly and the LSU coaching staff have secured a commitment from DJ Pickett, the top cornerback prospect in the nation for the 2025 cycle.

Pickett’s decision marks a significant milestone for secondary coach Corey Raymond, marking his first major commitment since returning to Baton Rouge in January.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 180 pounds, Pickett brings a unique dynamic to LSU’s defensive backfield at Death Valley, enhancing what is already shaping up to be a Top 5 recruiting class for the 2025 cycle.

Alongside Bryce Underwood (No. 1 QB) and Harlem Berry (No. 1 RB), Pickett’s commitment elevates LSU’s 2025 recruiting class to third in the nation, with aspirations to reach the top spot.

Known for his versatility in the defensive scheme, Pickett can effectively play both safety and cornerback positions.

For Raymond, Pickett represents the ideal recruit: a rangy cornerback capable of covering vast areas of the field with remarkable speed and agility.

“The determining factor was his happiness,” remarked Pickett’s father, Damien. “His contentment both on and off the field, where he can develop as a young man. Football played a major role, but equally important was finding an environment where he could excel academically.”

With LSU ultimately triumphing over competition from Miami and Oregon in a competitive recruitment process, Pickett’s decision adds a compelling dimension to LSU’s 2025 roster.

The class includes standout prospects like Bryce Underwood, Harlem Berry, Carius Curne, and Charles Ross, solidifying LSU’s future across various positions.
