Former USC football wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested on Friday night near LAX on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. He was found asleep at the wheel of a Rolls-Royce, obstructing a lane on the 105 freeway. Addison, who recently completed his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings, was taken into custody at 11:36 p.m. and released at 1:36 a.m. the following Saturday. Further details about the incident have not yet been disclosed.
The Vikings acknowledged Addison’s arrest in a statement to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, stating, “We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident.”
This isn’t the first time Addison has faced legal issues related to driving. In 2023, he was pulled over in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor speeding.
The news of Addison’s arrest comes shortly after a tragic car accident involving his Vikings teammate Khryee Jackson, who, along with two others, died in a crash suspected to involve alcohol.
Jordan Addison had a notable college career before joining the NFL. At USC, he played a key role as Caleb Williams’ primary receiver during Williams’ Heisman Trophy-winning season in 2022, finishing with 59 receptions for 875 yards and eight touchdowns. Prior to USC, Addison excelled at Pittsburgh, winning the Fred Biletnikoff Award in 2021 after recording 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns over two seasons.
