In April, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are making significant strides on the recruiting front. Mike Gundy and his coaching staff are assembling a promising 2025 recruiting class early in the cycle.

On Monday, the Cowboys successfully secured a commitment from Adam Schobel, a four-star recruit previously committed to Baylor for the 2025 class. Schobel, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound quarterback from Columbus, TX, ranks as the No. 17 quarterback and No. 39 overall player in Texas according to 247Sports. His decision marks Oklahoma State’s eighth commitment for the 2025 class, elevating them to the No. 23 spot in national rankings with two four-star recruits.

“After much consideration, I’ve chosen to decommit from Baylor and commit to Oklahoma State. I want to thank Coach Aranda and the entire Baylor coaching staff for their belief in me. I’m eager to get to work. Go Pokes! Go Cowboys!” Schobel announced on social media.

During his junior year in 2023, Schobel led his high school team to a 12-1 record, throwing for 2,405 yards, 30 touchdowns, and just four interceptions with a 68 percent completion rate.

Gundy and his staff continue to excel on the recruiting trail, securing Schobel’s commitment from Baylor, which strengthens their quarterback depth for the foreseeable future. With the departure of Oklahoma and Texas, Oklahoma State sees an open opportunity to compete at the top of the Big 12 conference.
