USC football’s offensive line coach, Josh Henson, is under early scrutiny as he looks to address the shortcomings of the 2023 Trojan offensive line. Henson’s major challenge for 2024 arrives swiftly with USC’s Week 1 matchup against the LSU Tigers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. LSU Wire has recently speculated whether the Tigers can replicate the aggressive pass rush seen under coordinator Blake Baker last year at Missouri.

In 2023, Missouri’s defense, led by Blake Baker, ranked eighth nationally in sack rate. Joining Baker at LSU is defensive ends coach Kevin Peoples, who was instrumental in Missouri’s formidable pass rush last season.

Baker and Peoples aim to replicate this success at LSU, but achieving similar results in 2024 remains uncertain.

Bradyn Swinson showed promise as a defender toward the end of the last season, but he must maintain his performance throughout the entire year. Another potential standout is former five-star recruit Da’Shawn Womack, who is expected to make an impact as he enters his sophomore year.

With LSU’s concerns in the cornerback position and limited depth on the interior defensive line, the pass rush will need to be a defensive strength.

USC fans are optimistic about the developing offensive line duo of Emmanuel Pregnon and Elijah Page. They are also eager to see how Jonah Monheim, known for his versatility on the offensive line, will lead his promising but less experienced teammates.
