The effort of 2020 first-round draft pick Mekhi Becton to revive his career has encountered another setback.
According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Becton suffered an apparent right leg injury during practice on Sunday and had to leave the field, eventually limping to the locker room.
Once the eleventh overall pick by the Jets four years ago, Mekhi Becton has transitioned from tackle to right guard and appeared poised to secure the starting position—provided he can maintain his health.
Injury concerns have plagued Becton throughout his career, limiting him to just 31 of 67 games over four years.
Adding to the Eagles’ woes, Tyler Steen, the other leading candidate for the right guard spot, is also dealing with an injury.
