As the NFL season approaches, the Seattle Seahawks are actively reviewing their quarterback options. With just a few weeks left before the season kicks off, the Seahawks are assessing their current roster and potential additions.

Geno Smith is expected to remain the starting quarterback, as he appears to be the team’s most reliable option at this time. Sam Howell has shown improvement from his days with the Washington Commanders, but he is still viewed primarily as a backup. PJ Walker, meanwhile, has yet to prove himself beyond a practice squad or third-string role, and it seems unlikely that this will change soon.

In light of this, the Seahawks have decided to evaluate former quarterback Casey Bauman, according to Aaron Wilson. Bauman, who spent four years with the Montana State Bobcats with limited playtime, transferred to Augustana University in Division II. There, he posted impressive stats, including 29 touchdowns and nearly 3,000 passing yards, along with 300 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.

Despite his college success, Bauman went undrafted in both the NFL and CFL. The Los Angeles Chargers signed him but released him before the preseason began, so he didn’t have the chance to showcase his skills in a game.

The Seahawks’ decision to bring Bauman in for a workout doesn’t guarantee a signing, but it could indicate their dissatisfaction with PJ Walker and their intention to find an alternative for the practice squad as the season gets underway.
