Aaron Wilson reported that the team worked out former Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Casey Bauman on Sunday. Standing 6-foot-7 and weighing 225 pounds, Bauman played college football at Augustana, where he passed for 2,878 yards and 29 touchdowns last season, adding 322 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Should he be signed, Bauman is likely to be positioned as the third or fourth-string quarterback, depending on the fate of P.J. Walker, who has had a challenging preseason.
In addition, the Seahawks are set to sign tight end Devon Garrison, who is 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds. Garrison had a strong season at Pittsburgh State with 35 receptions for 614 yards and seven touchdowns. The team is also bringing in former UCLA tight end Michael Ezeike, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 243 pounds. Ezeike recorded 35 catches for 407 yards and seven touchdowns with the Bruins.
With several tight ends dealing with minor injuries, Garrison and Ezeike may initially serve as camp additions until regulars like Noah Fant, Jack Westover, and Pharaoh Brown are back to full health.
The Seahawks are set to play their final preseason game on Saturday night at home against the Cleveland Browns.
