With injuries to Pharaoh Brown and Jack Westover, the Seattle Seahawks are bolstering their tight end position by signing former UCLA tight end Michael Ezeike, according to ESPN’s Brady Henderson.
Ezeike, who stands 6-5 and weighs 252 pounds, went undrafted in 2023 after his college career at UCLA and initially signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. However, he was waived before the start of the season. He later joined the Memphis Showboats in the UFL in 2024 but was released before the summer season began.
During his five seasons at UCLA, Ezeike played in 34 games, recording 35 catches for 407 yards and seven touchdowns, with a significant portion of his stats coming in his senior year.
The Seahawks’ tight end depth has been significantly impacted by injuries. Brown was carted off during a joint practice with the Titans, and undrafted rookie Jack Westover is also sidelined with a hamstring issue, though the severity remains uncertain. Additionally, starting tight end Noah Fant has struggled with injuries throughout training camp and has yet to play in the preseason. With these key players unavailable, the Seahawks were left with Brady Russell, Tyler Mabry, and rookie fourth-round pick AJ Barner in their recent preseason game against Tennessee.
