Oklahoma State running back and Doak Walker Award winner Ollie Gordon II was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to police.
A state trooper in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, observed Gordon swerving in his black 2024 Cadillac. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at 82 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit.
Upon pulling Gordon over, the trooper detected the odor of alcohol and discovered half-full bottles of vodka and tequila inside the vehicle, according to the affidavit.
Gordon, 20, was subsequently arrested and recorded breath alcohol content levels of 0.11 and 0.10 at the Cleveland County jail.
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Gordon posted bond and was released later on Sunday.
It was not immediately clear whether Gordon had retained legal representation.
Last season, Gordon achieved significant accolades by rushing for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns. He earned the prestigious Doak Walker Award for the nation’s top running back, placed seventh in Heisman Trophy voting, and was named a first-team Associated Press All-American. Recently, he was honored as the Big 12’s preseason offensive player of the year.
