Former Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Daniel Muir and his wife, Kristen Muir, were arrested on Wednesday following the discovery of their 14-year-old son, who had been reported missing two weeks earlier, found at their home in Logansport, Indiana. Indiana State Police executed a search warrant leading to the arrests. Daniel Muir faces charges of domestic battery and obstruction of justice, while Kristen Muir faces a charge of obstruction of justice.
Their son, Bryson Muir, is reported as safe and under the custody of the Cass County Department of Child Services, according to Indiana State Police Sgt. Steven Glass. The arrest follows allegations of abuse reported by Bryson’s grandmother, Cheryl Wright, who stated she observed injuries on Bryson and reported them to authorities.
The Muirs initially agreed to meet with Indiana State Police to bring Bryson, but backed out shortly before the scheduled meeting, prompting a statewide Silver Alert. Bryson and his parents were found during a peaceful operation by officers, which involved multiple law enforcement units.
The property where the incident occurred, known as “Straitway Goshen,” is associated with the religious group Straitway Truth Ministry, led by Charles Dowell. Daniel Muir purchased the property in 2020 and is involved in its leadership.
