Amid the focus on Jordan Love’s injury, another health issue for the Green Bay Packers has emerged from their Week 1 game in Brazil against the Philadelphia Eagles. Packers center Josh Myers experienced significant lower-body cramps during the game, though his situation was less severe compared to Love’s injury, which occurred later in the match.
As reported by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Myers described his condition: “I was cramping really badly. My legs were completely locked up. I had to sit out for a play and ended up collapsing. I was dealing with cramps for most of the second half.”
Despite missing the final two plays of the game against the Eagles, Myers is expected to be ready for the Packers’ Week 2 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field. “I received a couple of IV bags, so I’m feeling fine now,” Myers confirmed.
With Love sidelined for Week 2, it’s anticipated that Malik Willis will start as quarterback. Willis, who joined the Packers from the Tennessee Titans just before Week 1, will face a tough challenge, especially without a full offseason with the team and limited NFL experience. He made only three starts with the Titans last season.
As the Packers prepare for their next game, they will rely on Myers and the rest of the team to support Willis in his debut as the starting quarterback.
