The Indianapolis Colts (1-2) have made several changes to their practice squad ahead of an important home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0).
Cornerback Kelvin Joseph, who had a short stint with the practice squad, is now looking for a new opportunity as a free agent. Meanwhile, quarterback Jason Bean, known for his strong preseason performance, has been placed on the Practice Squad Injured List.
To fill the newly available spots, the Colts have signed defensive tackle Josiah Bronson and defensive end Derek Rivers. Bronson has previously played for the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins, appearing in 8 games and making 12 tackles (including 1 for a loss).
Derek Rivers, a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, has also spent time with the Colts, as well as the Los Angeles Rams and Houston Texans. Although Rivers has faced injury challenges, he was part of the Patriots’ Super Bowl LIII-winning team and has recorded 3.5 sacks and 16 tackles (5 for loss) in 24 games over his career.
As the Colts prepare for their showdown against the undefeated Steelers in under a week, it remains to be seen if they will make any additional roster moves.
