Adams  The Las Vegas Raiders are actively entertaining trade discussions surrounding star wide receiver Davante Adams and have publicly outlined their asking price for him. Although Adams, 31, initially dismissed speculation regarding his dissatisfaction in Las Vegas, recent developments indicate that he is, in fact, unhappy and has formally requested a trade.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Raiders are open to considering offers for Adams. According to Schefter’s sources, the team has communicated to other organizations that they would contemplate trading Adams for a package that includes a second-round draft pick along with additional compensation. This announcement follows initial reports from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, who first broke the news of Adams’ trade request.

Adams is currently in the midst of his third season with the Raiders, having joined the team in March 2022 following a trade from the Green Bay Packers. He has three years remaining on his contract, which is projected to pay him $35.6 million in 2025 and 2026. During his time in Las Vegas, Adams had initially found the environment appealing, partly due to his connection with former quarterback Derek Carr, who was his college teammate. However, with Carr now playing in New Orleans and a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the Raiders’ quarterback situation, Adams appears to be seeking a more stable and favorable opportunity elsewhere in the NFL.

This season, Adams has participated in three games, recording 18 receptions for 209 yards and nine touchdowns, contributing significantly to the Raiders’ current 2-2 record. His performances continue to demonstrate his elite skills as a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro receiver. As trade discussions progress, both the Raiders and Adams are navigating a complex situation that could reshape the team’s future, particularly if they successfully secure valuable assets in exchange for one of the league’s top receivers. With the Raiders’ clear willingness to engage in talks, it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold in the coming days.
