The Philadelphia Eagles will be without one of their key playmakers for their Sunday night game against the Los Angeles Rams. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith will miss the game due to a hamstring injury, having not practiced this week.
Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Smith was seen walking with a noticeable limp after the Eagles’ Week 11 Thursday night victory over the Washington Commanders.
Smith first appeared on the injury report with a hamstring issue on November 6 but has played in three games since. With Smith out, wide receivers Jahan Dotson and rookie Johnny Wilson will take on larger roles
“Eagle head coach Nick Sirianni praised both players, noting their recent big plays—Wilson’s first touchdown and Dotson’s deep reception in games against Jacksonville and Dallas—and their strong work ethic in practice,” as reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
This will be the second game Smith has missed this season, as he sat out Week 4 after suffering a concussion against the New Orleans Saints.
In other team news, the Eagles have placed edge rusher Bryce Huff on injured reserve after he underwent wrist surgery. Huff, who signed a three-year, $50 million contract in the offseason, has only 2.5 sacks and five solo tackles this year, and his playing time has been reduced.
The Eagles, currently 8-2, will aim for a 9-2 record as they face the Rams as three-point road favorites.
