On Thursday, LSU football proudly announced the addition of four-star safety CJ Jimcoily to their 2025 recruiting class. Jimcoily, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 205 pounds, is currently ranked as the 32nd best safety and 348th overall player in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Jimcoily, a student-athlete at Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, holds the position of the 9th best player in Tennessee and is the first prospect from the state to join LSU’s 2025 recruiting class. His decision to commit to LSU came after considering offers from several prestigious programs, including Alabama, Stanford, Tennessee, Michigan, and Ole Miss.
LSU head coach Brian Kelly, who has been actively involved in recruiting efforts, was seen coaching during practice at the Tigers’ outdoor facility in Baton Rouge on August 7, 2024, a testament to his commitment to building a strong team.
Jimcoily’s commitment marks the third defensive back to join LSU’s 2025 class, adding to the roster that already includes five-star cornerback DJ Pickett and three-star safety Jhase Thomas. Additionally, Jimcoily becomes the 10th defensive player to commit to LSU, further solidifying their defensive lineup. The Tigers’ defensive recruits also feature four-star edge rushers Damien Shanklin and LaJesse Harrold, four-star defensive linemen Zion Williams and Brandon Brown, and four-star linebackers Charles Ross and Keylan Moses, alongside three-star linebacker Jaiden Braker.
With Jimcoily’s commitment, LSU has secured the No. 3 spot in national recruiting rankings, showcasing their strong position and continued momentum in building a formidable team for the future.
